Q&A
Which type of flour is best suited for which pasta program?
- For the Plain Pasta mode, it's best to use type 00 flour or a 1:1 mix of all-purpose flour (type 405 or 550) and durum wheat semolina. For the Egg Pasta mode, regular all-purpose flour is sufficient.
Can I interrupt the programs during the process?
- Yes, it's possible. Simply remove the lid to pause the program. As soon as you replace the lid, the program will resume. Hold the 'Start/Reset' button for about 3 seconds if you want to cancel the program completely.
How do I prevent my pasta from becoming mushy or sticking together when cooking?
- We recommend letting the pasta dry for about 5 minutes to prevent it from sticking together during cooking. To do this, spread the pasta out on a wire rack. The cooking time is also much shorter than with store-bought pasta, at just 2 to 4 minutes.
How long does my homemade pasta last?
- Fresh pasta will keep in the refrigerator for about three days. Without eggs or other ingredients, you can also dry your pasta, which will keep it for several weeks or even months. Pasta with eggs is best frozen.
What is the optimal ratio of dry ingredients to liquid and how do I prepare the dough optimally?
- If the dough is too wet, add a little more flour. If the dough is too dry, mix 5-10 ml of liquid into the dough mixture. Generally, the pasta dough should be slightly drier than traditional pasta dough for a manual pasta machine.
