After some initial difficulties, the baking pan works fine. I now don't grease the pan at all; a layer of baking paper works perfectly. Unfortunately, the cast iron material is very heavy.

Searched and found

I always bake my bread in a cast iron pot because the baking results are perfect for me. A nice crispy crust and a moist and fluffy interior. Since I didn't always want to bake round and oval loaves, I was looking for a square cast iron pot with a lid.
I've used it several times, from hearty wholemeal bread to raisin bread, and I'm super happy with it!

Great for toast

I've been baking our own bread for some time now. I use cast iron pans for the bread. Now I wanted a cast iron pan for the toast, too, and decided on this one.

The result is impressive. The toast is nice and evenly crispy all over, but with a very thin crust, just as toast should be. I no longer have a hard crust on top and soggy sides – that was always the result of baking in a stainless steel baking pan.The finished toastie is perfect in size, as the dough rose evenly all the way to the top and filled the entire pan. It's a shame you can't upload pictures. They say more than a thousand words, as we all know.

And last but not least: The toast could be easily tipped out without any loosening. Nothing (!!!) got stuck.

Now I'm ordering the second one, because I always bake two at once :)

Today my favorite bread baking pan

I've been using Staub cast iron pans for regular bread for a long time, but they're not suitable for toast. So, more out of curiosity, I ordered this pan. Since then, it's been my most-used pan due to my high toast consumption. It's very heavy, but the crust is perfectly even all around, it's easy to clean, and even a light coating of oil prevents sticking. It saves you the steam. I'm thrilled.
